Anne Folsom Smith

As President and Owner of Anne Folsom Smith Interior Design, Anne has been practicing her art for the past 45 years. Smith is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, but has adopted Sarasota as her home. She attended East Tennessee State University as well as the University of Tennessee and hold credentials as an Associate AIA, ASID and is a Florida Licensed Designer.

Anne Folsom Smith Interior Design was established in 1983 with a staff of two and has grown to its present staff of 10. Her firm is actively involved in projects locally and nationally. Anne has received numerous awards including The Aurora and Fame Awards, Designer of the DCOTA and Who’s Who in Interior Design. She has been published in Southern Living, Southern Accents, Architectural Digest, Florida Design, Traditional Homes, Southern Homes and Coastal Living.

Fabiola Softas

Senior Designer
 Fabiola is a graduate of Western Michigan University whose accreditations include Allied ASID Member and Florida Licensed Interior Designer. Prior to joining the AFSID team as Senior Designer in 1995. Fabiola gained experience as a furniture designer and space planner in Athens, Greece and as an interior design consultant with Jacobson’s Stores, Inc.

She has completed numerous contemporary and traditional design projects incorporating sustainable and green materials and has had projects featured in various local and national publications. Her responsibilities include client consultation, design concepts, project and budget analysis and development and space planning.

Craig Striepe

A native of Sarasota and Graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Interior Design, Craig joined Anne in 1987. His responsibilities as the construction Manager for AFSID include scheduling and coordination of sub-contractors, site visits, and inspection of sub-contractors work with a focus on maintaining high quality and timely project completion. He provides valuable input to the designers to resolve construction issues and plays a key role in drafting and design.

Craig enjoys time with his family, fishing and boating.

Cindi Perkins

Cindi grew up in Sarasota returning to the area after college and brief stops in Atlanta and Dallas. After many years as Human Resource Manager with Jacobson’s Stores, Inc., Cindi Joined AFSID in 1998 where her responsibilities include design assistance, project story boards, client communications and project installation. She has a passion for animals and enjoys cooking and traveling in her spare time.

Dave Smith

Dave grew up in upstate New York and graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Business Administration.  After working several years in Rochester, NY in the finance field, Dave relocated to Sarasota in 2022. Dave’s responsibilities at AFSID include overseeing all the Accounting functions as well as Human Resource and Payroll functions.  Dave prides himself in attention to detail as well as helping the rest of the team at AFSID.  In his spare time, Dave enjoys golfing, pickleball, and the many beaches in the area.

Wendy Vitale

With over 40 years of experience, Wendy brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to her role as a Senior Interior Designer at AFSID. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Wendy recently moved to Venice where she resides with her husband and two furry companions, Spike and Harley. Her passion for creating beautiful spaces is evident in the project she undertakes for AFSID. When she is not busy turning design dreams into reality, you can find her exploring the charming streets of Venice or enjoying a leisurely stroll along the beach with her husband.

Kirsten Suder

After growing up in West Africa, Rio de Janeiro, and Europe, Kirsten returned to the U.S. to attend college where she studied Art and Business Administration. She started her career in fashion and transitioned into Interior Design when she joined Lillian August to pursue her passion for design. Kirsten joined AFSID in 2023 as a Design Assistant, bringing her 20 years of experience and utilizing her sense of color, texture, form, and love of design.

Stephen Wentzel

Stephen joined AFSID in 2024 as a design assistant bringing his design passion, vigor, positive approach, and over 20 years of experience with him. After immigrating to Boston from Cape Town South Africa in 2000 and working with the Eugene Lawrence design firm in Boston, his appetite for design developed into a career, and in 2017 he proudly became a United States citizen. He and his husband are proud pet parents to two golden retrievers Watson and Oliver. Stephen enjoys quality time with his family, he loves to cook and experiment in the kitchen.

Maddie Krehbiel

Maddie joined AFSID in April 2024 as a design/drafter specializing in space planning kitchens & baths and rendered drawings. Born and raised in Kansas, she grew up with a passion for interior design and studied at Kansas State and the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. After working in San Diego and Jacksonville, Maddie moved to Sarasota in 2023. She enjoys time at the beach and exploring everything Sarasota has to offer.

Michele Martin

Michele grew up in Lancaster, Pa. but spent many years in Newport, R.I. before moving to Sarasota in 1999, always pursuing a career in the design industry. Her responsibilities as Design Librarian at AFSID include updating the library’s vast offerings of textiles, furniture, lighting, wallcovering, tile, and flooring to ensure that it is current to assist the designers with material selection. Michele loves being home with her hubby and two wonderful dogs or in the garden most of all.

Ingrid Camacho

Drawing inspiration at a young age from her mother, Ingrid hails from a background deeply rooted in the work of design. Her understanding of style as well as experience in retail design, graphic design, art and metalsmithing allows her to infuse every project with her distinctive style. Ingrid also draws inspiration from her love of Brutalist and Bauhaus architecture along with the Memphis group in her drafting position at AFSID.
