Hello and Welcome!

By Kara Bonavia /

Right now you’re probably wondering who is that handsome cat and why is his picture the first thing you see on an interior design blog. Stick around and you’ll find out!

First things first, my name is Kara and I am writing this blog on behalf of Anne Folsom Smith Interior Design. Full disclosure, I am not a designer, but we thought it would be fun to try the blog scene.

Who am I? I am not an influencer and I am not trying to sell you anything. I have a background in art and design. Spending most of my free time on computer programs, Pinterest boards, and sketch boards creating imaginary spaces. There’s a familial connection to the Anne Folsom Smith Interior Design office and I wanted to help the team by publishing their accomplishments on a blog. Add to that, wouldn’t it be great to share information by local design experts in a fun, authentic, and useful way?

What about you?!

Enough about me, let’s talk about you! Why do you want to come back to read this blog every week? The designers and I have accumulated a few goals for this blog.

First, to let you know what type of services we provide. We’ll do this with updates on current projects (time-lapsed videos?!) and inspire you with many before and after pictures of our recently completed projects.

Second, to provide advice and know-how on upcoming home trends and relevant topics.

And finally, to keep you entertained with pictures and anecdotes of our office cat, George.

Meet George!

That’s right! The team members at Anne Folsom Smith Interior Design get to work with a gorgeous and well-behaved cat. His name is George and you can see his beautiful picture above. His story at Anne Folsom Smith Interior Design begins in 2016.

You see, George showed up as a stray at the home of our handy man back in 2016. He wasn’t able to take George in as a member of his household, and Anne had just recently lost one of her cats. Our handy man asked if Anne was willing and able to take in this beautiful stray kitten, so she did! However, [dun, dun, dun] Anne’s other cat had come to like being an only child and wanted nothing to do with this handsome interloper. So, what was Anne to do? Without hesitation, she decided that since he needed a home and a job. That was when George would call the offices at Anne Folsom Smith his new home. Needless to say, on January 2, 2017, George became a permanent fixture and mascot of the office (and building).

Please join us next week! Where George will show you around our resource library and I’ll tell you why the library sets Anne Folsom Smith Interior Design apart as a leader in the design industry in our region.
